Mobile Application that aims to reduce carbon footprint by incentivizing lesser electricity consumption.
Theme: Sustainable Developement for better tomorrow
Problem Statement
Globally, the primary source of greenhouse gas emissions is electricity and heat that accounts for 31% of total consumption. If left unchecked, this would further deteriorate the condition and pose an existential threat to every organism in the planet. Our objective is to create an application that can help people reduce their carbon footprint and do their part to combat climate change.
Personas of System
End user consists of people who wish to reduce their energy bills and inturn their carbon footprints.
Architecture
Three level Architecture:
- Presentation layer - The layer that interfaces the user to the application server. This layer consists of all the screens including the dashboard and the 2 leaderboards.
- Application layer - This layer consists of the application server and the electricity board server. The application server is responsible for all handling all API call from the mobile app. The electricity board server provides with the electricity unit consumption of a user, specified by the consumer ID, for 'n' months.
- Database layer - This layer houses the database for the application.

This is a group-based task in the context of mobile application development, in which mobile applications have to be created according to our idea. This assessment carries 70 % of weightage in which we are asked to demonstrate our skills and abilities of design, development and evaluation of cross platform. Along with it, we have to show proper understanding of business of the mobile application in both android and ios platform. As per the assignment brief, we have to implement hybrid mobile development technology tools, so we have used flutter as a framework which is the latest on demanding and very powerful cross platform. Along with the flutter framework, we have used Dart as the programming language and Mysql as the database. All that we have done is basic requirement analysis and proper market research in the very first phase and then we have validated the idea by minimum viable product and prototype is validated by evaluation. After taking all the requirements and criteria into consideration, we were successful in developing an application where a student can login with his/her username and password and can see all his academic information provided by the colleges. At last, we have done almost every aspect of the system as directed by our requirements analysis and it is on the verge of completion as a valuable product.
