What It Does

This extension scrapes Google Trends daily for all 195 countries, generates a branded image with the top 10 search terms and the country's flag, and automatically posts it to X/Twitter — fully hands-free.

How It Works

1. Google Trends scraping — Fetches the top 10 trending search terms for each country via Google Trends
2. Image generation — Uses an offscreen Canvas API to render a branded template with the search terms and country flag
3. Automated posting — Injects a content script into X/Twitter to compose and post the tweet with the generated image
4. Alarm scheduling — Uses chrome.alarms to schedule each country with a random delay (2–5 min), surviving service worker restarts

Installation

1. Clone this repository

   git clone https://github.com/aymenhmaidiwastaken/daily-country-search-trends.git
   

2. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
3. Enable Developer mode (top right)
4. Click Load unpacked and select the cloned folder
5. Log into x.com in a Chrome tab
6. Click the extension icon and hit Start Now
