Webnovel is a polished, production-quality Android UI clone inspired by the Webnovel mobile app. Built entirely with Jetpack Compose and Material 3, it recreates the full reader journey — from discovery and library management to an immersive chapter reader with paragraph-level comments and a premium coin paywall.

This project demonstrates modern Android UI patterns: edge-to-edge layouts, animated navigation, gamified check-ins, author dashboards, and a feature-rich reading engine with customizable themes and fonts.

🏁 Getting Started

Prerequisites

Android Studio (latest stable)
Android SDK 24+ (target SDK 36)
JDK 11+

Setup

Clone the repository

git clone https://github.com/Nabeelshar/webnovel-android.git
cd webnovel-android

Open in Android Studio
- Select File → Open and choose the project directory
- Allow Gradle sync to complete

Configure environment (optional — for Gemini API integration)

cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env and set your GEMINI_API_KEY

Run on device or emulator
- Select a device and press Run ▶️
- For local debug builds, the project uses a bundled debug keystore
